Ski Discovery, Montana. Discovery is a relatively unknown resort that few outside of Montana know about. However, it enjoys a dedicated following of locals from Butte and Missoula who make the 1-2 hour drive to get there. This review is based on one visit during average late January conditions.

Discovery ski montana. This is one of our favorite places to ski all around Montana. The hill offers the best beginner terrain in the state all the way up to some of the steepest slopes that are lift serviced off the back side, and everything in between. The location gives it consistent snow for most of the season. No snow making so they rely on natural snowfall.

Any quality ski rental shop should have a nice selection of beginner ski equipment for Montana skiing. There are rental shops in larger cities like Bozeman and Helena, and there are ski shops at the state’s top ski resorts like Big Sky, Whitefish, Discovery and Bridger Bowl.
